It's interesting to note how many of the classic Neutra homes, and probably others, have been restored to original specs and decor after years of shoddy renovations by architects and homeowners using Shulman's photos to reconstruct what was lost. They have, in many ways, allowed Los Angeles to preserve its second greatest cultural contribution after years of not quite understanding what it had.
I'm all for respecting the original architecture and the home's enviornment, but it seems a little bit too precious to use Schulman's photos to recreate the decor.
This is probably a moot point since I believe the majority of the modernist homes he photographed have since been torn down and replaced with McMansions.
