So, i'm guessing there's a negative stigma associated w/ juicy for various reasons on this forum, and on top of that, i've never personally dug any of their items, but i saw this dark brown leather bomber today at barneys...near perfect fit on me, very supple leather, nice details (aka simple and nothing gaudy) and overall look and a reasonable $695 (for a leather jacket i guess).

can anyone comment on the quality of juicy outerwear? and if $695 for a juicy leather jacket is ridiculous or acceptable?

i'll say one thing. everything by the brand is made in china with a few exceptions. with that said you could do a lot better for that price.

I think if they launched the men's brand with it's own name, it would have a lot less stigma.
Juicy Couture, a brand that was known for velour sweat pants with "Juicy" on the ass in pink and girly colors, then offered more women's clothing/bags/acces. and then decided to make men's clothes under the same name.

I've actually seen/tried on a few outerwear pieces from JC that I thought were great. Don't know about the longterm quality but it seemed good enough. $700 for a "fashion' leather jacket is a good price...I know of the leather bomber you're referring to (I also thinks it looks really good) and I don't think $700 is outrageous, esp since it probably won't be around during saletime.

I don`t own any outerwear, but the regular tracksuits(?) that I have seem pretty well made. I wear them on flights and sometimes when I take a walk, etc.

If it fits well and looks nice, take the plunge. What you're paying for is fit and design, not so much quality. However it's not going to fall apart on you after a couple wears, so it should be fine.

You probably won't be passing it down to your children; but if you like it and can afford it, hit it.

juicy stuff in general (mens) is very well made and cut, high quality stuff. unfortunately it does have the stigma of ugly track suits and what not

i think the stigma is with womenswear, not with ugly track suits...it's like the men's section at forever 21. just plain wrong.

since i get beyond major discounts (practically free, corporate insider hookup), im planning on the following items from them in a future order, if i dont like them, its no big deal/money lost..
note: i am actually paying $0 for all of these so i dont care how they turn out..

NOTE, no logos on ANY of this

plain tee with raw edges:

basic polo

nylon jacket

There is a little chain thing attached to the zipper of this jacket im just going to remove

these shorts
JUICY-MP58_V1.jpg

all of these are completely logo free
and im getting them for free
so i can't go wrong, as long as they fit okay

yea the good thing about this leather bomber is there is almost no branding on this thing, obviously nothing on the outside, from my casual observation and even when you look inside, it was immediately apparent to me. i had to dig around to find out what brand it was.
