I picked one up last year in their Bond Street shop in the summer sale, and I wouldn't rave about it.

Since I'm slim with a large (9 to 10 in.) drop, finding OTR shirts that fit is always a challenge. In that respect, I'm very happy with the Joseph. The cotton is of decent quality--it drapes nicely and shows no signs of wear after 1+ year. The buttons seem to be MOP, but not the high end Australian stuff.

The main downside on mine is fused cuffs that began bubbling immediately. (The collar is fine so far, though.) In fairness to Joseph, I wash the shirt (cold water, gentle cycle) contrary to the Dry Clean Only care label. To me, it's absurd to expect that a cotton shirt will always be dry cleaned.

Based on my experience, the retail of GBP100+ is ludicrous. At a discount of 50% or more (as mine was), a Joseph shirt may not be a bad choice.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
