Any good? There are a few on e-bay, look Loake in quality.

There's also a nice looking Balmoral called the Hudson for sale.

As far as I know, there isn't an online shop. The only place I've seen them is on e-bay. The balmoral is currently for sale here. Not sure if shoes are made by or made for JS.

Here is an old thread on "˜John Spencer' in AskAndy

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/f...ad.php?t=85239

that is my contribution and, I'm sorry, I don't know anything more:

John Spencer used to be a Northampton manufacturer of mid-price shoes, who went under, maybe in the early 90s.
Last owner of the company was Marks & Spencer (no relations).

The brand (maybe the name only) has survived in Spain, just like 'Lotus', another traditional Northampton manufacturer.
If those John Spencer shoes, made in Spain or further afar, share anything but the name with the former Northampton company,
I wouldn"˜t know.
Google is your friend!

The shop is online now; has anyone made any experience with them so far?

I notice that they are offered by Abba in Vienna. A nicely-styled line of Austrian shoes-- sort of like Vass but slightly housebroken.

I'll try to find out more next week.

They are made in Spain in cherry/oxblood colour, the upper is patent leather finished.

Same shoes here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/John-Spencer.../dp/B002R5AJQG

Are they worth $199 CDN (~$199 USD)?

I bought a pair of cap-toes in Lane Crawford here in HK for a little under $3000HKD. These are my first nice shoes ever for work, so far so good. It's obviously not as good as the bigger names, I had this and a pair from Fratelli Rossetti to choose from and I got these.

Anyone else who can comment on their quality?

I have a pair of there chelsea boots and the skin is of low quality and the fit is bad. I would not recommend them. In this price segment i like Barker or Loake better, but i dont know if thay have a boot in the same style.
