That is very poor and I am shocked that their customer service did not rectify it.
Updating (thanks for reminder): they eventually did send me a replacement product after a number of emails. So I’m glad they fixed the issue. It just took a long time for them to do the right thing.

Would you guys recommend taking the same size in the standard fit as the easy fit? According to the measurements online, standard fit is basically the exact same as easy fit, just one full size smaller.
Are there other differences in fit that aren't conveyed via the sizing chart?

My understanding (and experience) has been that Easy fit is just fuller around the midsection. I certainly haven't noticed any more room in the biceps and armhole and chest area.

Thanks for your feedback. It's weird because if you look at the sizing charts it really does seem like standard fit is pretty much just exactly one size smaller in every dimension.

Got my first John Smedley polo a few months back and now I own ~10 pieces from polos to knit tees to sweaters. I love the quality of their knits, especially at the sale price point.
The only downers are the plastic buttons, which I don’t really understand given they don’t cheap out on hardware elsewhere (I just received a zip knit and they use Riri zippers), and the “recycled” cashmere in their eco cashmere knits. I assume it’s to help keep a lower price point? Not sure.

I enquired about the plastic buttons and they claimed it was to make it simpler to ship to various countries worldwide (no animal pieces involved).

In any case, I’m a huge fan

Also disappointed by the plastic buttons, it seems a poor excuse to me, any good knit producer uses mother-of-pearl. Knitting and construction quality is excellent though (even more inexplicable that they don't use nice buttons).

Yeah, I’m not going to bother swapping them out on my polos (I think they way they’re able to match the colours to the polo with plastic somewhat makes up for their plastic nature), however, I just purchased a cardigan and I’m definitely considering swapping these buttons for horn. I’ve never done it before but hopefully it isn’t too difficult to source the buttons and have it done professionally

Hello, Im considering buying a merino wool crewneck from John Smedley but dont know enough about knitwear in general. I was gonna buy the same from Suit Supply and buying Smedley would be a pretty big price increase so I was wondering if the Smedley merino wool knits are worth it? Are they a piece that will last for years and years? They also seem to be somewhat shiny in the product photos, is that really a thing or just the lightning in the pictures? Also, I see they are running a sale but not on the ones I would like to buy. Any way to reduce the price? If you also have other recommendations that are near Smedley quality but with lower price Im open to them.

Oh thats a huge jump in price, thanks very much for the recommendation. So how is the quality? They seem to be 100 percent merino, so the construction makes a 200+ euro difference?

I have bought a lot of merino from the Outlet and find the quality very good and long lasting
You may not get the full range as displayed on their website but the price is easier on the pocket you just have to keep looking for the right colours you want

The outlet has the same items as the regular store, it's just usually limited sizes and worse colors. But occasionally you can get exactly what you want for a fraction of the price :)

Not all merino wool is the same quality in my opinion. Something to keep in mind. I have tried both Suitsupply merino polos and own Smedley merino polos and sweaters and feel like the Smedley ones not only drape better but they aren’t as see-through thin. I imagine they would hold up better over time and several washes as well, though I don’t own any Suitsupply merino to compare the longevity

So I definitely want a navy and a charcoal grey one, is that something you guys have seen on the outlet store or at least discounted on the main store?
