Picked up my Lofgren x Mushmans engineer boots in Badalassi cognac yesterday. They're incredible. Amazing craftsmanship.
Fit is excellent with an insole and slightly thick socks.

This is accurate, our boots are not made at the same factory. Close inspection of them would make that clear.

Gorgeous. Jon is such a nice guy, too. If I didn't keep splurging on coats and shirts at $200+ a time I'd be able to afford some engineer boots. Why does $200 x 4 feel acceptable on the credit card but $800 seems like far too much?! :)

I here ya. But the boots will be with me for a long while. Really looking forward to watching these patina. The cognac will turn a wonderful brown-red quite quickly.

    Totally.

I'm torn between Lofgren and the Mister Freedom Road Champs... I don't have to choose until my wallet's a little fuller again though!

I've seen and handled them both and you can't go wrong with either, that's for sure. The Road Champs are a bit sleeker (lower profile toe, no storm welt etc), but I like the beef and the shape of the Lofgrens. As well as the more curvaceous heel. And, IMO, the Lofgrens are superior in terms of finishing.

Great looking boots Kashiwa! Please post some fit pics if you have the chance.
Btw, has anyone tried the Lofgren baker pants? Interested in picking up a pair but am a little worried about the length (inseam).

Just wanted to check in and mention that my Lofgren Badalassi engineers came in as well. They are a truly a work of great craftsmanship. I've been looking forward to these for months, and they do not disappoint.

    Thanks Jon and Atsuko!

Hi John, welcome aboard! Missed your posts above, probably due to a time lag after you joined. Just logged my first long walking day in them, and I'm very impressed. Great fit, very comfortable. Thanks again for putting such a great boot together!

Thanks for the kind comments. All credit to designer JL and the master shokunin! Will definitely post photos. Just to give an idea of the rapid patina of the Badalassi, here is are before wear (right) and after a few months wear pics of a Badalassi grigio A-2 jacket.

Will try to post some fit pics. I've tried the JL Baker pants on. They're great. The inseam wasn't a problem for me (I'm 6'2" with avg leg length or so).

Congrats. Hope you are enjoying the new boots. Post some pics when you can!

I'll be heading to Tokyo for a business trip next week, will be staying at Shinjuku. Are there any JL stockists in the area? Thanks!

You should send a mail to JL and ask him directly; but, last time I checked, the only stockist in Tokyo was Mushmans, which is actually in Saitama and quite far from Shinjuku and really doesn't have much at all anyway........In fact, I think they only have one shirt at the moment, and only in a medium.

If you do hear of a Tokyo stockist, let us know!

Thanks! Sent them an email this morning.
Btw, is the brand Cushman in any way related to the shop Mushmans?
