Great Vintages! The 2004 is my absolute favor.

I've heard the production for each Vintage year is limited, anyone know how many? Bengal, Jcusey?

aport , i believe you live near northampton? is this how you can get so many pairs? did you get some of these from sausage?
the R ones are any of these those? how are they? nondetectable i hope.
i was bidding on the museum brown ones on the second shoe. wholecut with punch zigzag captoe. that shoe looks sweet.
your last ones the dark brown 2005 ones are just too sweet. your lobbs are sweet.

Thanks Dior, much appreciated. I actually live in NYC. The 2002 came from the JL shop in London, the 2003 from EBay, the 2004 from Stanley Korshak and the 2005 from EBay via Mordern Vintage. None of theses are marked R, they are all first quality. Though, I do have a few pairs that do carry teh R and it's virtually impossible for me to find the defect.

I love the 2004 too.

While it's essentially the same design as the Grenson Masterpiece Stowe and the Edward Green Ladbroke, I think Lobb executes it with a little more flair.

Andrew - are all the "Vintage" models on the 7000 last? Is that part of the "Vintage" concept?

EDIT: hmm.. actually, it looks like the 2002 and 2004 are on the 8000?

I agree TK! I think the beveled waist really gives JL a sleekness that is hard to match.

JL 2004 is my fav too.

Another idea for Andrew. A pictorial comparison of Grenson Stowe, EG Ladbroke, CJ Balmuir and JL 2004. And do a blind test first: insert identical shoe trees into the aforementioned 4 models to cover their identities and let us guess which is which, and which is the most pleasing to the eyes. It must be fun.

I was at the State Theater at Lincoln Center last Thur. and saw somebody wearing a pair of JL 2003. I couldn't help but kept staring at his feet. I suspected he's one of us. Any one of you were there wearing JL 2003 last Thur.?

Maybe I'm visually impaired, but I don't detect significant last differences across years?

02 and 04 have more chiseled toes.. 03 and 05 have more rounded.. at least from what I can see.
