John Lobb Shoes (Difference between the 2 types)

First of all, I'm new so hello from London UK.

Recently I was lucky enough to come by 4 pairs of John Lobb shoes (from a charity shop no less!). 3 pairs of brogues and a slip on. The black brogues were brand new (the soles were shiny black with no wear).

Now I'm aware that there are 2 different types of John Lobbs. Mine have a black inner with gold type and royal crests). Are these the bespoke or off the shelf type? Also - how much would they retail for?

They are actually perfect fit lengthwise but a bit tight around the top of my foot. I've put oversized shoe trees in to see if they may stretch a *little*. Any tips on how to wear them in?

Thanks in advance all

Sounds like you should sell them and buy a pair that fit.

Well to be honest I think I'd rather wear them in for £30! Doubt I'd get anywhere near enough to buy a new pair (not that there are any prices on the UK site?)

Try using a shoe stretcher instead of trees. You'll get much better results. This is the kind of find we all dream of. Congrats!

^I'm not sure about that particular one on ebay, but that's the right idea. The stretcher I own cost about $40 US and I use it all the time.

I shall give it a go

I have quite a high bridge so I'm used to shoes being tight around that area. To be honest I'll probably cringe as I tighten the stretcher in the Lobb but if it fits nice in the end without me having to go through any pain then it will be worth it!

If you're worried about stretching the shoes yourself, take them to a local cobbler. It really is any easy operation though. I typically will stretch a too tight pair of shoes for about 24 hours, but you may want to check them for size every eight hours or so. Remember that your feet become swollen as the day goes on, so you may want to try them for size in the evening. If they still don't fit and they're a 10UK, send them my way
