Does anyone know what the pricing structure is for John Lobb London? Do they charge a "last fee" for them to make your first pair of shoes? Or is the price the same for your second pair as it is your first?

There is no last fee, although they often have discounts for additional pairs ordered within a calendar year....

£2800 without EU tax
Price list - http://johnlobbltd.co.uk/main/pricelist.htm
They are more expensive then other London shoemakers likes Foster and Cleverley; for example, Foster charge about £2300 without EU tax

Yes, the price difference is significant. My first pair are on commission right now. I was dubious about the lack of fittings, but we'll see how they turn out.

They currently have an offer on their homepage. 500£ reduction on the second pair of shoes ordered and 150£ on the the second pair of trees. What a deal, go and get them mate. But don't forget to post some pics and a report.

nothing like a pair of $5,300 shoes (with trees) to knock me down into my realm as a small timer.

I'd like some pics of the end result if you'd be so kind.

I sure hope they turn out well. For that kind of money, I would expect the shoes to fit perfectly.

They told me that issues with fit are rare and therefore the fittings weren't really necessary. They also assured me that they would fix any fit issues no charge.

I have to say that so far, of the London makers my favorite has been Cleverley. There were issues with the first pair I had made, but they completely remade them, new last and all, at no cost. Subsequent pairs have been flawless.

The major differences between Cleverley and JL have been cost and communication. The folks at Cleverley respond to emails and calls immediately and are very communicative and pleasant. To me this is critical to the process. JL has been rather slow to respond and short on info.

FYI JLP is about $8k from their NYC store. JLSJ is a bargain in comparison.
