I have a pair in bracken that I am sporting right now. The cream I would use judging by the picture is claret. To my knowledgeable JL does not offer a true bourdeaux as per the ny store and claret is therefore their Boudreaux. You can always look to Saphir for a Boudreaux but they are pretty close.

claret is an older term for bordeaux red wine.

Might be a little too red for me. I would tone it down with some mid tan or color 8.

Saphir Bordeaux has a good amount of purple undertones IMO--I still use it on my claret shoes but I use a more red cream polish (Hermes Red or occasionally use Shoe Snob Merlot) but will polish with wax in bordeaux and or a navy to add some burnish.

For anyone in Northampton - the John Lobb factory is having a sale this weekend (July 13-15) - most shoes will be around £250 - can email [email protected] for more details

PS the sale is in store only - they don't accept orders at the sale price over the phone or via email

Isn't there an eBay seller who always buys up the entire stock and then sells them? I remember a few years back this was happening on a regular occurrence on these sales. I wonder if he or she is still around doing the same thing.

They now limit the amount of pairs you can buy, it was around 10 last year so i would presume the same this time round

The factory had tremendous amount of styles last time I was checking the stock in size UK 9 E (a month ago). Over 80 pairs in that size alone. However, none of those were any of the popular ones - City II, Philip, William, Lopez ..
