Only natural to pick something up while picking up refurb.
    Claret Williams 2, so happy.

    Wait, you smell that?
What color is bracken misty? Is it a mid brown with reddish or copper undertones? How would it compare say to parisian museum or misty?

I have tried to convince myself into getting the bracken misty, as it was on sale a year ago, but it just lacked the rich lustre of Parisian Brown Museum Calf and it looked kind of dull compared to it .. It has a similar overall look, but once put side by side, there's a clear difference .. If you are after the Parisian, you will never be quite happy with Bracken.

So I dont really think they look much alike.
Misty in my experience has more "shine" to it for lack of better words, while museum does not, but depending on the batch it may have more mottling.
Bracken misty is brown with very strong red/copper notes. A rich darker chestnut/mahogany however you wabt to call it.

Parisian brown museum and bracken misty are my two fave Lobb colors and i have several pairs in each color.

Side by side, same shoe (klein-imitation brogue)

None of the shoes have undergone any care other than a wipe with a cloth or brushing

Awesome thanks. Yes chestnut or mahogany is a good description. Is that Parisian misty or museum on the left? Definitely looks more of a darker brown than I've seen in other pics.

    That is museum parisian.
Misty has more of a sheen to it and the leather looks tighter/under more stretch (hard to explain but you wiææ know what i am talking about when you see it).

I have 3 lobb parisian brown and yes tjat one is on the darker side but not much more than the others. I can take pic of all 3 when i get home later. I bet parisian misty is lighter w more sheen from pics i have seen i but i dont have any. They are both awesome colors but they are very diff IMO so it depends on what you want. Parisian brown is the safer color for most occasions

Ps: sorry for typos. Have fat fingers and the keyboard on phone is small

Great thread. I have a few gently worn 11E Lobbs that I would like to move. 11.5 US D width. Mostly Prestige. 8000 last. 7000 last. All bought new either from Wilkes or the NYC store, or locally. I have found that a larger size now fits me better. If you you want to buy them or have anything Lobb larger to trade, let me know.

Harlyn Dark Brown Suede MTO incoming from Skoak!

I've long been a fan of EG Dover's but bought the Harlyn from Skoak in Parisian Brown and think the Harlyn is a better shoe in the Dover.

So you prefer the EG Dover? Good to know. Why?
