    Wait, you smell that?
I have a hard time spending $1200 on firsts.

Looking into a casual John Lobb option, and wad looking at these:

Would these have the same level of quality as their dress shoes?

Today, having thought I'd been forgotten about, I heard from Paul Smith regarding my enquiry of the Westbourne availability. (Lobb had already said no to a MTO) Hoorah! It does seem they have a few pairs floating about. The wonderful sales assistant at PS, Melbourne, is currently trying to get in the Lapis in my size. Could not be happier. Sadly it's not available in a EE fitting - what we do for...

I'm considering a John lobb chapel. Want to get some views - should I get it in dark brown musuem or Parisian brown museum? And why?

Are there any good rubber sole options from john lobb?

I'm also leaning towards getting it from skoaktiebolaget, but let me know if there's another retailer I should consider instead. Thanks.

I'm going to the first fitting tomorrow at the JL store in Houston with the trial shoe. I'll be sure to take pictures.

Some pictures of Paul Wilson from the NY boutique doing the cut away, the trial shoe marked up, and a souvenir. Patrick Verdillon, director of bespoke operations, was also in Houston who talked about the bespoke process and small details about bespoke shoes. I was wearing my Archer and while I was walking around in the trial shoes testing them out, Paul took my Archer and noticed that the bottom leather piece of the sole was peeling away. He had the GM of the store repair that for me while Paul was cutting the trial shoes and taking pictures of the fit.

Patrick gave me his card and told me if I ever go to Paris to send him an email to setup a tour in the Paris workshop. Not open to the public but I think they do private tours for bespoke purchasers. Pretty cool experience all around.
