1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I still remember it was like $1975 back in 2009.

The 2009 is a nice shoe. I've found that the opening (whatever it's called) is a bit wide and you see the top of the front of the shoe, with your socks sometimes peeking between pants and shoe at the front, which i don't particularly like.

My guess is the top opening right underneath the ankle

Top opening, I'm not great with the technical terms :) I don't know if it was just me, but that's what it seemed like at times.

I like to call it the mouth of or throat of the shoe.

I didn't know JL made the 2009's in any other colors other than the 3 Cabernet, Merlot, and Gamay. I tried to special order it on a museum calf and was told no.

You have to send a hand written letter every day to the Northampton factory for a year.

Hey Chogall.. Those shoes are in really nice shape, how often do you wear them? How many shoes do you rotate them with? I imagine your collection is really nice.

Hey, John Lobb aficionados. I was looking at these at a sale, and they're asking roughly €90 which sounds like a steal. But looking over them I wonder if it's too good to be true?

They look kind of beat up, especially on the toes, is that normal wear and tear and coverable with some polish?

The logo looks off, has this style been used before? I've never seen it, but then again, I'm not that well read when it comes to Lobb's.

    What do you guys say?

Take it if they fits. Its John Lobb Paris bespoke.

Toes wear/tear aint a problem; can easily be solved with cleaning, conditioning, cream and lots of wax. Patina.

Totally. That's pretty much a throw away price.

They are in pretty good condition, upper condition decent, no fraying or drying/cracking around the top line/heel, still tons of life left for that double sole, not too much wear at the heels. The separation between the double soles should be no problem for cobblers to do a quick fix.
