i have to say that i still love a few of their models as well, like the jodhpur boot, especially in a different leather for the straps.

i think that they are my all time favorite Lobb shoe/boot but I do love the monks and double monk boot as well!

Most of their other models just seem too plain to me compared to EG and GG.

Yep, the only difference is that the William II has the hand sewn seem on the toe cap.

They are nice but for some reason, very few Lobb models have a last that works well enough to give it the elegance or sleekness that either EG or GG can give in similar styles.

As stated, there are a few combos that I think are really great, like the Jodhpur and double monk boots, but that is really it for me. Then again, the fit is what should matter the most when looking at brands that are of similar quality. Which ever brand gives the best fit for the person should be who they get the most pairs from.

EG has the most conservative shoes of the bunch. Timeless classics for sure. No last is more boring than the 202. I still like it though.

John Lobb SC 2015 might look like Buttero sneakers.

7000 last is a beautiful thing. However the 888 and 82 are hard to be beat by anyone.

I wish lobb would go back to making shoes with the clean lines and great materials they were know for more phillip II's etc less crazy looking fashion shoes. Rant Over

My Mr Porter Lopez makeup on the Spring sun before the first wear past week ..

I really like the soles on these, much better grip and feel compared to leather ones, though not prettier .. But the Plum Museum and November sole (in April) really is a interesting gemish.

How much longer should the JL Rubber sole last compared to the leather if used the same amount?

I'm not sure, I just started wearing it. However after 3 long walks I could already tell it's pretty sturdy, much harder than Dainite, though Dainite feels a bit more connected to the surface.. That's at least my personal experience so far ..

I hate to wish anybody ill will, however I hope they're not successful with this new approach. I just don't want to see any of the others going down this same path.

I agree. They are a great company and shouldn't shift to this strategy. I don't mind if they sell styles like that to keep sales high enough so they can continue to sell the high quality nice styles that we appreciate . Then maybe some of the fashion people will start to appreciate what we do.
