I'd rather buy a pair of adidas superstar originals for $60.

Of course you can resole this particular sneakers, but they will charge you $500 to get the job done.

The direction of the company lately is a disaster. I was browsing their online catalogue and all I could find are some ugly Spring loafers and these wanna be Lanvin sneakers with the stratospheric price. This will either be a total failure for the company or a success if they manage to attract tasteless east Europeans (though I'm pretty sure those guys would primarily purchase the Lanvin/Gucci shoes as John Lobb itself would be too classy and pricey no matter how they try to copy the fancy look). One thing is sure, John Lobb will never be the same. Lopez loafers and few other styles like Philip II are all I could rely on these days.

It is sadly true.

All these boat shoes, sneakers and other monstrosities.

That kind of buyers will also go for the Gucci /Ralph Lauren label ridden models...

I love my old Lobbs but the latest models are just ghastly.

I have to agree. I love some of the store specials Leather Soul did a few years back, they were truly amazing. Sadly, stores can't do their own store specials anymore. John Lobb may have lost their way in our eyes, but ironically it will probably be a huge commercial success.

it is a complete shame, but i think that is the way that they are going as well. They seem to care more about "fashion" then quality and "style" anymore.

I don't know if I agree that their quality has diminished any. I picked up a pair of the WilliamII boots last Fall and quality wise they were fine. I will agree that some of their new designs are more fashion oriented than their more traditional models (Philip II, City II). However I think they still maintain a quality product, and I think their finishing is second to none.

Sorry the quality part was just typed in out of habit. I know that quality is still there but more the fashion vs style part is what i meant.

And with that I completely agree.... Lobb sneakers the entire concept is ludicrous!! Though I am looking at the 2014 Lobb St. Crepin cap toe in brown..... waiting for Leathersoul to get them in.
