I got my AAU in, they are good, but not great. the cut is a bit off, They flare out so badly. The lining is the best part, the zipper is pretty terrible. All you guys buying 3 pairs are insane

I thought I needed to steam them and the flare was from them being folded. It’s not steam fix but helps a bit.

I was trolling but yeah. I was trying to say that different people find value in JE products for different reasons. If people hate the fit / zippers I can understand why they wouldn't want these. I agree the liner makes them worth it and the fit is still superior to most mainstream options

On the printed shorts, I will say I think most people still wear them casually and aren't buying them to be stylish. Just a nice option to have. Additionally, some people in this thread have very loud styles but it works with their vibe. There are others I've never seen wear anything but neutral tones but its their vibe and I respect that too.

Mesh shorts just aren’t a fashion statement or a great styling piece. So, some of what I’m reading makes me laugh, because it’s as if others bought these thinking they were getting just that. What we got is exactly what we should have expected. Basic mesh shorts. Regardless, the one part that bugs me is the trash zipper, because there’s other brands doing these same type of shorts, one of which is coming out with their own later this summer, at a cheaper price AND w/ Riri’s.

that’s why I said plain mesh isn’t worth the price. At least the pattern ones offer something visually different. Mesh shorts look no different than any other cheap mesh shorts in an outfit.

I noticed your fit pics of the AAU looked pretty great, were those photos "post" steam?

Yeah the flare is so ******* crazy. I'm only keeping the beige/gold because it's not a color you come across often. For basic colours I will hold out for yellow label rerelease next month for a fraction of the price.

Maybe I'm reading the messages incorrectly but I didn't think people were expecting these to be a fashion statement.

Agreed on the zip. Even if it was YKK I would be ok, but this is not the nice silver YKK you get on Acne Jeans or JE Bombers

what size did you grab?
small and medium, medium the waist is way to big, but the medium is a better length IMO. The ones I posted are small, which are a bit over an inch shorter than the medium

You see the one I posted where the lining was falling apart brand new? I'm terrified that the same thing will happen now to my other pair.

On another note, do you think the red Seekings hoodie would be worth ("worth" being very loosely used here) the money based on the one you have?
Worth is relative, if you’re buying $178 mesh shorts, is a $400 sweatshirt that absurd? Mesh is also significantly cheaper than fleeced terry. JE dropped a $488 sweatshirt last week...

If the color isn’t your thing, I’d wait, I’m sure there will be other colorways in the future. I’ll let you know when I get the red in.
ALD Yankees?
Yes

Other than the lining, there is nothing special about these. It’s a miss. They had the potential to make exquisite mesh shorts and they kind of dropped the ball, cutting corners with the zipper and not getting the pattern perfect.

Where TF is the gallery?? ??‍♂️

Of course! That's definitely why I said I used it loosely. I like the ice blue one with the oni-looking face on it too. I did pick up the black denim while I think on the hoodies.

I did just receive an approval for exchange on my AAUs, but if possible I may just return them because I agree that they're a bit of a miss for the price point. I also won't deny a bit of a bias with that statement given the QC on a brand new pair. I'll keep my "light blue" (grey) pair of course.

I’ve got the red YL Mesh shorts and the color is awesome but the yellow tag on red just reminds me of McDonalds colors ? Ive got to pop it off.

I feel like the tag clashes with other things I’m wearing. Like, if I want to wear a certain hat, or a certain pair of shoes that have an opposing color(s), it just bugs me. How are you gonna go about getting rid of it? It seems like we are stuck with it in there.

I personally don’t mind the yellow tag but I can definitely see how it can look off for others. Nothing wrong with repping McDonald’s with your McMesh shorts either!
