Definitely do not wash Boucle. It will shrink, the trim will not, and you will not be happy.

Aha, bought a pair off Grailed and when they arrived, the bottom (beneath the trim) was a bit wavy - is this the effect to which you're referring?

Yes, boucle will shrink if washed, and the trim will not, resulting in a distorted and wavy effect.
