First thing I thought as well.. I love JE don't get me wrong but people seem to rush to the defense of any item that receives criticism.

No company is gonna hit the nail on the head every time. And c'mon, justifying it with "water repellency" some Thinsulate? This isn't exactly Arcteryx technology we're talking about here.

True, but I actually own the jacket. So everyone ragging on it who hasn't handled it is pretty silly IMO. It's a quality jacket. And the water repelency is better than the outlier jackets I have which are made out of schoeller dwr treated materials. For the price it's a solid jacket. If you're not into it, that's fine, but it's not very helpful when people are looking for actually opinions on an item.

I was constantly reminded of the JE jacket every time Bogota was mentioned in Narcos..

Yeah don't get the hate about the bogota either. Definitely not the most exciting JE jacket out there, but I tried an alpine one on at concepts yesterday and for the price I figured why not. Sure not as cool as the iridescent flight jacket and not my go to outerwear piece from this season by any means but at under 400 dollars its certainly worth the money in my opinion. I live out in CT now too so thinsulate was just an added bonus.

For anyone with the swarm, will it stretch in the shoulders with wear? Will it mold over time like the rider or am I better off sizing up?

I feel like it's just slightly too tight in shoulders and chest and not sure if it will stretch because of the lining

I think the price is why I consider giving it a try in black. It seem very good jacket for the price if you are looking for a clean black bomber. I hope black will be available somewhere in Europe so I can give it a try. Don't want to mess with international returns in case I don't like it. Sizing is TTS?

When I originally purchased this jacket, I took a size 2 and sized up to 3 for the same issues noted. That being said, my jacket "ripped" without me really doing anything, I believe due to the super soft leather, and I ended up returning it. Great piece though.

Still no USPS Priority option for JE checkout huh? Living across the country Priority takes less than half the time of UPS Ground and costs only around $10 depending on weight (whereas UPS 3-Day is priced at $36.92 for me). I understand logistically UPS works well for JE but I'd love to see the Priority option added.

Considering I do all my returns via USPS/they could then issue return labels via USPS I would very much take the time to second this request!

I asked customer service if when sending back product whether to insure additionally and they recommended the full amount of your return, which makes returns pricy.

@Jbidwal. @Mikeisonfire @nsubrmnn thanks fellas, I figured it would have stayed the same since the fit is so good. Mine measures 16, site says 16.1 and the SL vest is 16.3 so I should be good.

You're insane if you think a smaller company like JE is going to offer free returns.
