Joe Hemrajani kindly honors my (absurd) request for an (absurdly) widespread collar.

For my most recent batch of shirts, I wanted a true cutaway. I drew inspiration from the Udeshi style of collar - in fact, in his instructions to his workman, Joe literally copied the Udeshi URL into my sizing info and let him have at it. This is the result. It's a bit absurd, but I'm quite fond of it. That said, for my next batch of shirts, I'm going back to my traditional spread collar.

As Luciano Barbera said, "A man should own as many shirts as he wishes - the more the better. I personally have so many shirts that I sometimes walk into my closet, pull one out, and think to myself, 'Now where did that come from?' Having lots of shirts will allow you to surprise yourself with your own good taste."

Don't know if, a couple years down the road, "good taste" will come to mind when I pull these boys out for a whirl, but hey - bespoke is all experimentation. Might as well have a bit of fun.

(Side note, fwiw: there's a bit of unsightly pulling and tugging of cloth here. This is because all pics were taken by me holding my Blackberry Flip in front of me and struggling to nail the right button, so that probably accounts for most/all of it.)

Does your dry cleaner put your shirts on plastic hangers(?) If so...sheesh! Great service

You're not planning on wearing those with a suit and tie are you?

I am (as we speak - these pics were taken this morning). See the third pic. I take that to mean that you're not fond of this collar, which is, of course, an entirely rational and defensible position, and, in fact, a position that I basically support in my comments above. Like I said, chalk it up to experimentation

Pretty extreme, but not too bad. I would get a better idea if you could take a picture of it wearing a jacket and zoomed out a bit.

Sort of embarassed to ask my secretary to do it
. If I can convince the wife to snap a better pic tonight, I will happily post it.

Interesting.

Kudos to you for being brave enough to experiment with something new, and come off with a workable result.

Probably not for me - I'm not that experimental - but I like them. They're not nearly as out there as other stuff on SF. They cry out for a Big Ass Knot.

Isn't that the same collar Josh Brolin wore with a suit in nearly every scene of Wall Street 2?

Mine are a tad more extreme - see here, for comparison purposes:
