I’m 6.5D in 180, 7D in Golf. I would not go wider.I know this has been asked before but I can’t seem to find it in these 95 pages on JM Apprecation postings…
How many of you go wider with Golf sizing vs 180? I have three pairs of 180 loafers, size 7.5D, a perfect fit. I’m wondering if I need 8D or 8E in the Golf, specifically the high derby (boot) version. I have a pair of 8D on order through the Marais store (they haven’t arrived at the boutique yet) and I’m wondering if I will regret this. I know there’s no way to really tell until I have them on my feet, but I’m curious about everyone’s experience with this.
Shell Westons are total collectors! If I remember correctly these were made exclusively for the Japanese market, right?
There was a batch for the japanese market through Isetan ( 180 and Golf in a similar color) some 15 years ago I believe. I was lucky enough to join a group order through the St Honoré boutique ( I think it was in 2022/2023) : the order was originally for the japanese market but some could be ordered ( available were 180 and golf in both Bordeaux and Cognac).Shell Westons are total collectors! I also own a pair of 180 in navy shell cordovan. Sadly I still don't know where their cordovan comes from ( it is very different from a Horween for example and you might even not notice it is a cordovan from a distance).
Just a follow-up to posts from a few weeks ago…I received my green Golf High (boots) in 8D, a perfect fit and complement to my growing collection of 180s in 7.5D. I traded in two undersized pairs of 180 loafers (live and learn) for 400 euros credit as part of the vintage programme, so these boots only set me back 200 euros plus shipping. No customs charges from DHL! Tip of the hat to Nour and Hugo at the Marais store for facilitating this purchase. They’re my go-to sales associates at JM Weston and highly recommended.I’m 6.5D in 180, 7D in Golf. I would not go wider.
Sold at Champs-Élysées or Saint Honoré. There are restocks regularly for 180s or golfs. Some other shoes are rarer, like demi-chasse or triple semelles 180. Those are restocked every 4 months approx. and they don't really get that many pairs in. They've even got some stuff in lizard or croc.Where can one find more info abt the vintage program?
They are as French as they can be, if you bump into trouble with shipping/return, it will take some time for them to answer. And they don't check the merchandise before they ship, A couple of occasion have to return the shoes due to imperfection on the craftsmanship/scratches on the side. The one you ordered (Beechhut?) was the merchandise in question, there was a small piece of leather missing from the stitching. Ended up buying the same pair from Mr Porter afterward.Just ordered another pair of 180 loafers. This time in a camel suede. I'm using 24S.com for the very first time. (LVMH) Will let you know how it goes.
