The fates are really tempting me, as there is now a pair of the brown suede 180s in 12E available, assuming that means 11E Weston. However, I'm a comfortable 11D in the loafer.

I am interested in brown(preferably dark) dress shoe and Half-hunt in "Brown soft calfskin in patina" looks interesting to me for I am not too inclined on a cap-toe.

Though the original color is nice I am not sure of how much the color changes with use and if it starts looking inappropriate for wool dress-pants especially with color change around creases.
Can any owner of that shoe post pics of that shoe please?

I went to the London store to get fitted, and the SA was diligent and thorough, but she just couldn't get the Half-Hunt to fit. The closest fit was 7.5D (J.M. Weston sizing) but my heel was still slipping out of the shoe. It's a beautiful shoe, and I was a bit bummed.

The Golf size 7 did fit and I will likely get a pair.

I have a pair of Paraboot Avignon (EU41) that are a great fit, and they are similar enough in style to the Half-Hunt for me.

Did they run out of size 7 for you to try? If you are good with Golf size 7, you should be also good with Half hunt derby size 7. Should just a matter of width.

My experience with the London Store eight year ago was that the sales person seemed very competent and measured me and determined that I was 7F in their sizes- I am 9 G/H UK,
but of course, no shoes in stock. Same at the New York store ( which did not survive COVID).
I wasn't complely surprised as I wear 4E running shoes (trainers). Same at Ludwig Reiter
because the last that fit has been discontinued.

It's always like that, they list the actually Weston size as UK size, The first time I got a pair of 180
from them was a disaster, of course no help from the customer service from hell, they actually list the size as true to UK size. A while ago(something like 5-6 years ago), Mr Porter really measure every merchandise and they were really accurate, but now, do not trust the so called size chart. The only up side is returning is pretty easy(except during sales period).
Mr Louis is spot on correct here. I think most people that buy a pair of 180s, without trying them on, and have to do it via an online transaction, will probably have to send back a pair to find the right size. Sending something back to JM Weston seems to be a rite-of-shoe-passage - fans of the brand have to pay their dues to find the right fit.

My experience: I wear a 10.5 UK G width (I have a wide foot) - the online JM Weston sizing calculator, using the measurements I provided, put me in a 9E, that didn't make sense, so I took a gamble and went with a 9.5E, they showed up and were very tight (so the 9E recommendation from the online sizing app was way off). I did my deal via email through the boutique in Limoges (I'm in the U.S.). It did take 3 weeks to complete, but JMW paid for the return shipping on my 9.5E, and once they had my old pair, they shipped me a replacement 10F and it fits perfect. I have 3 pairs of 180s now, black and brown suede, and navy boxcalf. They are GLORIOUS! I'm a JMW 180 fanboy. I think they are the best loafers in the world. I think all shoe collectors should have a pair of brown suede JMW 180s - it's just classic classic classic. But then I really like the unusual things about them, the slightly thicker sole, and the split toe. Once a person finds the correct fit, then order away because they have great quality control and various 180s, if same size will fit perfectly (unlike Alden which will kick out same-sized, same-lasted shoes that vary in fit ????) - so for me, I was a 1/2 size down from UK sizing.

I’ve seen quite a few pairs listed on eBay, I’ve always wondered how that sizing worked, I know for a while that JMW was selling them at Nordstrom’s and it looked like these were closeouts that had somehow got to eBay and I emailed a few sellers and they told me that these were US sizes which I didn’t believe

Damn, I didn't realize Nordstrom was offloading their stock. Haven't seen those sales online yet. I'll check eBay, though. Thanks.

I bought two pairs of 180s about six months ago directly from the Limoges boutique. I sell quite a bit of stuff on eBay that’s not related to shoes so I’m on there quite a bit. I happened to notice there were multiple sellers that had 10 or 12 pairs for sale. They were all in brown boxes and the 180s that I got from JMW were in the nice looking blue boxes. These models are listed as US/ UK sizes. JMW does not size their shoes this way. Here’s an example of one of the listings

By the look of these, they are not 180, more like Le Moc.

Which makes the proposition even worse...the only shoes brands I buy from eBay are Ferragamos - I know my brand and style (Parigi) and you can find deep discounts (usually 50% off - new in the box)....I agree on the LeMoc - I didn't catch that, but upon review, I see the rubber sole...I've seen so many of these listings on eBay for 180s like this, they are all in those strange brown looking boxes...my boxes from JMW are always blue, very nice, they have folding tops....

On the other hand, all my Westons are in these recycled boxes😒
