I see a brown box in the background - are these from Nordstroms? Or did you buy these direct from JM Weston? (one of their boutiques)
Direct from the boutique, I did receive shoe bags, but brown box. I think they are likely switching over to the blue boxes with newer stock, but may still have some of the recycled left over.

I just ordered a 2nd pair, in blue, and paid for them a few minutes ago...I'm a little nutty about things like this...for me, I think I would either want a new pair without the flaw, or, a partial refund, perhaps $165...they sell for $770E, or $824, they go on sale for $616E, or $659, so that's $165..maybe even more, like $200...they are very slow to answer, but, they will, and return shipping is free, they will email you a DHL return label, you can schedule a pickup - it's pretty painless....sorry this happened

Thanks for the info on return shipping. If they cover it, this pair is definitely going back. Overall these are basically my perfect shoe, so a little hassle is worth it, if a bit frustrating.

Update, turns out I missed a reply from the boutique this morning. Basically “I can send this photo to the factory, but if it’s in the shop it passed QC. I will let you know their response.” I replied asking for an exchange… We’ll see how this resolves.

Yes, I'm interested to know what they do for you. Which boutique are you working with? I agree on the "perfect shoe" - this brown suede is so nice. I just did a 3 hour lecture, ran around campus for an hour, so comfortable....just a tiny, really small, bit of heel slip. Did you get black boxcalf?

I’ve been dealing with Charlotte at Saint-Honoré. I did go for the black boxcalf. A very versatile shoe to be sure.

Just visited the shop in Geneva and got a dark brown 180. Excellent service.

The heel slippage and overall stiff feeling went away pretty fast, and Im already thinking I can do a whole day at work next wear.

Beautiful shoes

This is the other pair I ordered - getting them Friday - hope they are flaw free...I love blue shoes....I wear this color with very light wash jeans, a dark navy shirt, usually from Untuckit, and I have a Blue Omega Seamaster in blue that goes perfectly with the shoes - I'm obsessed with shoe / watch match...

I got my blue boxcalf 180s a few days ago. They were perfect - very happy with fit, the fit is even better than the suede. I wore them for 6 hours on first wearing, no problems. The vamp creased up pretty quickly and deep - surprised that that the lasted shoes trees did not smooth this out. The suede 180s I got a month ago don't have any vamp crease - suede just does not crease as much. The brown suede 180s = 10/10, the blue boxcalf = 8/10. Happy to have both....

I got my 180s yesterday evening, in great shape, quite pleased with them. Small lasting hole but nothing out of the ordinary, even for higher end makers. Unfortunately, I realize now that 9.5E is much too wide for me! My feet must have been uncommonly swollen when I first tried them. I’m sure the shop manager is tired of me, but hopefully she’ll be able to arrange another exchange for me.

Oh that's too bad - the process of return, get new shoe, takes some time as you know...I hate the waiting...an FYI, I found the suede to be just a bit looser/bigger versus boxcalf in same size. Hope next pair fits perfect - worth the wait!

FWIW the lasting hole is always there with JMW, it's almost a hallmark at this point
Where do you see the "lasting hole"

It's a small hole at the back of the shoes where they nailed the upper on the last. Generally, makers try to hide it by punching in a stitching or by filling it with wax but JMW doesn't seem to care much (athough I checked my pairs and it isn't always obvious). It's a non-issue in my opinion anyway
