Oh Wow! Really nice. We do not see those that often any more.

@dahl5yankees can ask you if these are the 579?!

Curious if anyone here has the Chasse. If so, do you find the bellow tongue to be feel odd when the shoes are worn? Thinking about getting a pair of Chasse-like shoes made with a bellow tongue (just for fun), but my shoemaker warned that it might make the shoes feel a bit odd with the extra leather folded underneath.

Anyone have any experience with the detail?

The Chasse did feel a tiny bit odd right where the quarters/eyelet tabs are sewn to the vamp the first couple of wears. But, they have been feeling like gloves after that. The leather of the tongue is particularly soft and flexible, and, I did not feel that it was the source of any particular problem.

Don't worry, the tongue leather is specifically designed to adapt to the shape of your foot so after a couple of hours with it, it Will fit like a glove.

Thanks. It looks like the tongue and the gusset are all one piece of leather? Do you happen to know what kind of leather it is?

My shoemaker noted that these are usually made with a deerskin gusset, I assume partly because I'm working with non-deerskin leather for the rest of the uppers. Maybe hard to get a tongue in the same color, so a one-piece tongue probably isn't possible.

Is the JM Weston tongue all one piece and do you know if it's deerskin?

I don't know if it is deerskin but on the inside it is smoother than the smoothesf suede.

Here is the famously acclaimed Yves Klein Moc a very special shoe. Only a few owners ( 1500) worldwide, the color is unbelievable in real life. If you get a chance to see it in your size at your local JM Weston store, you will probably agree with me !!!
