And what you think about this prestige oxford shoe ?
I bought it last october in the J L London Shop in Jermyn St (also get the relaxed and casual Oxford Sprint II )
I'm not very happy with the Farndon to be honest they are very confortable but are not impressive wearing them doesnt seems that i have spended such big money for them

Vogda,Welcome to SF!

I'm not familiar with JL Farndons, but you will find someone here that is.

Don't worry about your written English. I'm still trying to improve mine, and it's been 56 years

Anyway I'm from Italy Amalfi Coast
When I got back to London I've measured the Langton they are fantastic but in my whishlist there is the Philip and the Adelaide but I DIDN't se tht in the shop
Does John Lobb goes in sale ever ?

I also have a pair of C&J Hand Grade Derby with cap toe its wierd because insole is written Byron but they are not.
The stich on is plein and on the catalogue the most similar is the Boswel

My experience is that you have to find a last that fits your foot. I find my John Lobb Presitge shoes on the 8000 last to be some of the most comfortable I own. They truly hug my foot. I walked about 50 blocks in them right down Madison Avenue yesterday.

I have other John Lobbs like the Chelmer where the last is not as wide or accomodate a high arch like mine. These are less comfortable.

In other lasts I have to size down or up.

The bottom line is that all shoes are not made on the same last. It is often not possible simply to say "I'm a size 9," buy every shoe in every brand in a size 9, and expect them all to fit the same. My wardrobe is full of different sizes and widths, becasue every maker's lasts fit differently.

Ok
that means that people in the shop (if not a bespoke)have to give you the proper time and try with the new client all the last till the customer find the right one and choose the model (The shop in London have a guy that is very helpful) When I buy a shoe is because I like the model So if they don't do that one in "my" Last I have to forget it
But my Farndon are very confy they are 7 1/2 E 7020 3995

Ok, I'm confused. They are comfy and you buy a shoe because you like the model. So why don't you like the Farndon? Personally, I don't much care for the Farndon. I think the broguing (the punch holes) looks a little cheap.

You re right the fact is that seeing more classic model as Philip Adelaide or Langton I have changed my mind on the minimalist broguing and that was my first JL so probably I was also confused on what looking for and just think that (and I close don't mean to bug you)they are not impressive as ther JL models

Hello again Vogda, the Amalfi coast is a great place.

I think I see where you are coming from. I speak as an observer and not an owner of JL's.

It seems comfort is not an issue, The Farndons fit you well, and are comfortable.

But you don't think they are impressive and "wearing them doesn't seems that i have spended such big money for them"

Your English is much better than my Italian, and that's a great quote!

I agree with you and Z that they don't seem as impressive as a $1000+ JL would seem to look. I'm sure the quality is fine, but I don't see them as looking like "spended big money shoes"!

Some of the JL owners (aportnoy has a little experience), might have an opinion as to what looks like a big money shoe (for lack of a better term)

BTW:Vogda, Do you like Italian shoes?
