I saw a Jill Sander hang tag recently that claimed a new form of construction with the "three dimensionality" of traditional tailoring but new innovation.

Are Jill Sander suits canvassed? What is the level of overall quality re top tier Italian garments?

The Jil Sander suit I own is fully canvassed, and I was under the impression that all of her suits were of unfused construction.

As far as comparisons to other companies, you have to look at her suits as what they are - something more fashion-forward and cutting edge. Even though her suits are fashionable, some designs are still appropriate for many different situations and would be considered 'stylish' for many years.

Compared to other suits in the 'designer' category - Gucci, Prada, Dior Homme - I think that Jil Sander suits are superior.

They are not, however, superior in construction to Attolini, Isaia, Barbera, etc. They are not designed to be.

I think you hit the nail on the head Vman... Jil Sander is unbeatable as far as quality and construction is concerned for designer suits.
