That is hideously fake. Was that the exact belt you bought? This is what I believe to be an authentic Versace belt. Versace belt All the Versace Jeans Couture, and Versace Classic as well as the Versus I've seen were made in Italy.
I don't know - he's gotten quite a few feedbacks saying the items were not authentic. Seems odd that they would fake a belt like that - usually the fakes are covered with logos.

I have no idea whether that's real or not - but if I were a luxury goods counterfeiter, I'd produce a second tier of goods, largely bereft of external badges, but still with a logo somewhere. Those who are wary of fakes - and so avoid the items with obvious logos - who want the brand name, but don't know enough about the brand to tell, would buy from the second level, thinking they were smart enough to find the genuine article. They'd probably pay a higher markup, too. Some people on the board have claimed to have seen fake Borrelli, or Kiton or whatever, and this has been quickly shot down, as 'people who want these brands would quickly spot a fake'. But would everyone? I'd imagine many young, style-deficient people would hear about these brands from their co-workers, and they would quickly become an object of desire, just like Versace or Armani. But, not knowing the tell-tale signs of a quality garment, they'd buy fakes with the Borrelli badge as entry-level garments, and have no idea they were getting ripped off. Whew. I think I'm done.

I think most of the negatives delat with tangential issues like returns, etc. But this seller is somewhat suspect. Look at his feedback, and it seems fine. The Prada duffle seems fine until when one gets to the picture of the inner label. That is blatantly a fake Prada. Seeingly though he has some other authentic articles. Ebay Prada

I agree with that. That is why there are so many fake Prada's about. LA Guy once mentioned he had seen fake Margiela. Then the next thing one sees is probably fake Thierry Mugler or something ridiculous like Gaultier with that coat hook. What would be even more amusing is fake Berluti with a painted on surface.

There are some shops in Patpong, in Bangkok, that carry very, very high-end fakes of reasonably obscure brands. My understanding is that they're mostly made in Korea. The shops themselves seem to cater largely to middle easterners. Their Gucci shoe knockoffs are the current season's models, and very high quality (and pricey at US$130+). It's not just Gucci, though - I've seen Prada, Tods, Ferragamo, Vuitton and even John Lobb knockoffs. My wife has a pair of Hermes heels for which she paid about US$60 and that are absolutely stunning, not to mention reasonably well constructed - at least comparable to what you'd get at an Off Saks/Nordstrom Rack for more. And there's more than just shoes: everything from Bally keychains (US$12) to Hermes "H" belts (US$25) to LV ties (US$30) to super high-quality Dior sunglasses (truly comparable to the real thing and nothing like what you think of as sunglass knockoffs - US$30). Incidentally, I'm sure Bangkok is not the only place where this type of shop can be found. They're almost certainly in China, Korea and Japan. Also incidentally, at least 90% of the Hermes "H" belts on eBay right now are worse quality fakes than offered in these types of shops: see, for example, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....28&rd=1

Brian - sorry to say this belt you bought is irrefutably fake (for goodness sakes, not even the letters in GIANNI VERSACE line up correctly.). There is no Gianni Versace Classics line either. I was 99% sure but to be 100% sure emailed the pic to my local Gianni Versace Boutique who affirmed my suspicion.

The ONLY authentic Gianni Versace belts are like those shown in LabelKing's link. See the final pic with the details printed on the underside. This is how it should be.

Notice how the seller has similar belts with different branded buckles? It is more likely lmuch cheaper quality leatherette (small % of actual leather rounded out with plastic/vinyl/name your alternative) BTW, not 100% leather (semantics allows them to get away with this).

Here in Australia, eBay Australia has had to warn sellers about fake local denim brands like sass&bide, Roy, Tsubi, Bettina Liano (all worn by the Sex & The City Girls). It's getting really ridiculous.

It's fine. It was my fault for not investigating it deeply enough. Part of the sacrifice of being an avid eBay buyer is that you get great deals but every once in awhile you get burned, and it's almost always your own fault.
