Does anyone out there know a reputable jeweler in the Diamond district where I can get a good deal on an engagement ring?

Sped., sorry no one has give you a reply yet. There have been a couple threads on this so use the search function (their subject lines are probably something along the lines of "thinking of a ring" or "engagement ring" etc.). No one mentions specific dealers in the Diamond District, but there is alot of advice about buying.

Good luck. I just dropped my big $$ on one two days ago.

Unfortunately no. Our recent trip to NYC would have been perfect (and she suspected it, actually), but I didn't have the money yet. I think I have conned her into us going out to dinner to celebrate my end of semester and our "sinaversary" (one year since we moved in together).

Any ideas?

but try Macy's, or get a stone at an auction and have it reset.
