22 years old...moving on from american eagle jeans and wondering where the best place is for fair price jeans for lanky guys. 6'1 (long legs)

I'd start at the GAP believe it or not they have a nice selection at very reasonable prices, including selvedge. Alternatively you can try good old Levi's, JCrew (i know lots of people around here don't like it) has some decent washes for 501s, I snatched one today for $14.00 on sale.

Or u can go high end something like Citizens of Humanity (i like those) or Seven for Mankind or, even better, APCs.

I've worn 501XX shrink to fit for 40 years with no complaints. I've tried others but go back to them.

As many have suggested, I'd start with Levi's. And for jeans, I'd recommend going into the store and trying them on...
