Jeans for muscular thighs

Denimheads,

You may remember my question re: Hutch for muscular thighs...

I was hoping if I could get suggestions on my next pair of jeans.

The requirements are

1. Darkish, like a ES Formula 21 wash... I want them to wear to work (business casual), with boots etc...

2. Cut comfortably, without excess baginess. Granted that most pants are tight around my thighs, I was looking for a nicely cut pair of jeans that can accomodate larger thighs and ass, rather than having to buy a baggy pair - the reason I was looking at Hutch was to get something sorta straighlegged without a flair, which is fitted. Seems I got more than I bargained for in terms of the cut though.

3. A very subtle bootcut - Dont want to look funny cos my skinny calves and large thighs can create an odd shape..

4. Easily available online - Im in Sydney, so itll have to be web retailers or Ebay for me...

So lets here the suggestions!

You may want to try a reproduction of a '40s Levis cut. They won't give you any flare, but the lets are wide and stovepiped and will accomodate larger thights/buttocks without making you look like an inverse pyramid.

If you like the Earnest Sewn might want to check out their Fulton or Hemingway models, both are wider in the seat/legs and have a slightly higher rise than Hutch.

Hemingway model has much looser legs but they might be a bit too baggy for work (depending on where you work I guess) so you might try Fulton or you could do what I did and buy a larger size in Hutch to get a better fit on the legs.

Nudie Regular Ralphs fit the bill perfectly. If you want more of a straightleg and a more discreet styling, Rag & Bone RB1's will also do.

Earnest Sewn, I highly recommend the Fulton. I have the same problem, and ES Fulton as well as Nudie Regular Ralph both fit me well.

Believe it or not, I have a pair of APC NS, and after a bit of stretching, they fit surprisingly well.

I wouldn't go regular ralphs (tried and failed for me) - I'm in a similar boat (cyclist thighs) and found that nudie straight svens work well for me. Roomy enough in the thighs but still a refined fit. Might be worth a look.

Might try the nudies...Does anyone know how their sizing goes?

Is it true to size? Or is 2 inches over?

How much slimmer is the RB6 than the RB1? I really like the streaky indigo. I'm looking for a 'going out and picking up chicks' pair of jeans, so want something more flattering than the RR.

Are you sure about that? I have both... and the SS definitely has the tighter thigh.

Okay Tom,

With that disturbing visual in mind

I would say that the RB1 or Corpus Morphy are probably pretty good bets for you. Both provide ample ass room, but are slimming. The RB1's are much cleaner, more versatile, and could be dressed up any number of ways. The Corpus, and I do love mine, are limited to the Post-skater/hipster look. Might not be for you.

I was leaning towards the RB1, but was really impressed with PG2G's pics of the RB6b. I'll go with the RB1.
