Jeans are too soft

I used the search function and came up with nothing so dont flame me if its been covered:

I have some jeans that are 4 years old, I wore them often and washed them often, so theyre really soft. Now when I wear them, instead of nice even breaks at the bottom, all they do is bunch up in one pile at the bottom. What way can I remedy this. I was thinking starch, but has anyone tried it?

Spray your entire legs with pam and then put your jeans on. Walk around the house and do a few squats. Your jeans with stiffen right up.

Fill a bucket with warm water, mix in about 1/3 cup clear water- based varnish such as Heirloom. Dunk the jeans in, swish them around, get them fully saturated. Take them out, hang them up and let them drip-dry, outside.

It does not affect the color, but will stiffen them up. You can use more or less varnish depending on how stiff you want them.

BTW - The manufacturers do something similar to this to stiffen their fabrics. They refer to the varnish as "resins." More or less the same thing, as varnish contains resins.

yes, manufacturers use resin, and even the professionals sometimes encounter breaking of the fabric afterwards.
So pls be careful not to apply too much varnish...
Other than that, Samurai's suggestion makes sense.
