Does anyone have any experience with these sneakers? How do they compare to Jack Purcells, particularly the version that JCrew carries?

They're on sale for $20 after the 20% coupon. I want to get a white and a grey pair. Just want to make sure they fit like the Purcells because I can't return them.

Thanks.

Can't tell much about the sillhouette, but for $20 you can afford to take a gamble on them. I'd hit the trigger

No, they're not. J Crew has done that, but these are their own design.

I bought a pair in the red color. Pretty comfy so far, but I am slightly pissed that they offered 20% off sale the day after I bought them.

How do they wear compare to Chucks and Purcells?

Sorry, cant help you as I haven't owned Chucks or JPs. They look fine right now, but these will look even better once they get some wear.

converse really ought to pull the plug on j-crew.

this is like j crew sleeping with converse's wife, and then selling the baby to angelina jolie.

j crew has sold regular and 'secret wash/broken in chino/j crew terminology JP's' for atleast 3-4 years now, then they decide to make a blatant rip-off like these this summer.

They look nothing like chucks or JPs. Having said that, I don't really like the way they look.

I have both Chucks and Purcells, and I find the JCrew version different from them. For instance, the JCrew shoes have a more padded back than either Chucks or Purcells. I like that.

Definitely has more padding/support than Chucks, a bit more than Purcells. However, ugly as hell. Big and clunky.
