had some time in between appts. yesterday, so I stopped in the new Jay Kos store on Park and 58th. Having been an admirerer and owner of Edward Green shoes, I was checking out their collection. To my surprise, I noticed that they were charging about $1000 for the oxfords, and $1300 for any boot models. I had custom ordered a pair of banbury boots, in dark oak antique, from a store in Greenwich, ct. last summer, at a cost of $695. The banburys that Jay Kos had were listed at $1300. Whats the deal here? I know Polo carries Edward Greens at a fair markup, about $850, but at least you get the shoe trees and I suppose the cache of that purple lining, if thats what you are into. But $1300 seemed absurd. How can they do this? Has anyone else on the forum had any experience with the store?
