How are those going to wear I can hear you shouting! Well with white Lillywhites suede, these are going to be worn on the yacht deck while smoking a cigar in a linen suit, so I’d imagine all they would do is a few paces back and forth - not much wear envisioned. Perhaps the wooden deck will have more damage! Or the silk carpets of the Oriental in Bangkok! Though I’m sure back in the day before rubber heels were invented Gentlemen had to live with this small inconvenience, and I intend to do just that!

Seriously though, if your tops are white suede, then the bottoms are not much to worry about, I’m sure you’ll agree!

Stay tuned...there is a lot more original work going into them - should be in my hands in late November!
You know what...Technique, and creating the overall appearance of a shoe exhibiting that WOW factor (which wouldn't work for my style anyways) Murata is probably Top Dog. Not far off from that technique mastery lies Kiyo Uda. IMO, based on his technique, finishing, English Classic styles (which admittedly is my preference), there is not a finer Japanese Bespoke shoemaker out there. I am confident these shoes will come out amazing.

Dear experts, I've recently moved to Tokyo for business and very interested to get my first pair of decent Japanese shoe.

Unfortunately, I'm still a junior exec and cannot afford a bespoke service (definitely sometime in the future!) but don't want to miss this opportunity. I'm currently looking at the more affordable MTM options. I have around 1/2 year in Japan.

I've browsed through the first page but noticed most of the bespoke makers bar a few don't show MTM options.

Would appreciate if someone could recommend a maker around Tokyo but I'm more than willing to travel elsewhere! Thank you!

Yohei Fukuda does MTO as well as RTW, and is based in Tokyo. I've only tried his RTW but they are hands down my favorite shoes to wear.
