Clematis makes machine made for just under that price.
It is also in Ginza.

Does anyone have any recommended Japanese shoe makers with RTW at about the 100,000 JPY/$1,000 price point?

I was able to check out Guild of Craft's store in Yurakucho last weekend and tried their sample size RTW, which fit amazing, but unfortunately they didn't actually make their product in my size.

I'm looking for something comparable in terms of quality/cost performance, and am hoping you guys can point me in the right direction.

For how long are you in Tokyo?

After ignoring repeated requests asking me to do so :uhoh:, I've finally compiled all of my workshop visits, trunk show reports, translations, and shopping guides into this single post (and I almost barfed looking through the entire thread)
Hopefully one day, I can post them on a user friendly website/blog, but here it is for now, in the chronological order.

Enjoy folks! and there's more to come! (Spigola show report etc..) :fonz:

Went to the Hiro Yanagimachi trunk show today at Leffot, and ended up ordering a 5 eyelet split toe in dark brown museum calf with a painted fiddleback waist, rubber toplift, and flush metal toe plate. Had a lovely experience, and I can't wait for delivery!

What was the price point on Hiro Yanagimachi shoes? I was curious about mtm.

Is it concistent at trunk shows? I meant us pricing.

I did MTO, and it was near the higher end of the rates listed on the website(¥250,000-¥350,000). I did have several additional charges including fiddleback waist, sole painting, rubber toplift, and metal toe tap.

I suppose some of us have already seen the results for the shoemaking competition at London the other week.
Our old pal Eiji Murata, aka Main d`or scored the 3rd place, which I suppose is a reason to celebrate.
I don`t have the 3rd place shoe in hand (which I will, during the world tour that pit stops at our store)
but I do have some of his more adventurous bespoke sample shoes (that we recently took some glamour shots of). Enjoy!

They were both made as bespoke samples to showcase some of his possibilities. I recall him saying that the waist for the blue one was made really thin and borderline impractical.

The jet black sole on the black/burgundy one was finished in a method he said was inspired by Japanese lacquer (urushi), by applying and polishing layers after layers. Very pretty indeed but again not so practical for wearing lol
