Will be heading to Tokyo for a week in January is there a list anywhere of Japanese shoe brands less than $2000 USD I can find. RTW or MTO is ok as long as they ship to US. For me bespoke not an option due to time constraints. Ideally would like something not available in the US.

Thanks ahead of time

clematis ginza is your best bet I think.

Are you below a US size 9? otherwise, there will be limited options available.

Check out Yanagimachi. Great quality. Can ship. Prices vary, but should be possible to get a pair for your budget

I second the idea of Clematis. You might want to email or call ahead to make sure that someone who can interpret is there when you visit.

No need of interpreter as Chiba san’s English is fluent.

galileo,

I had Chiba-san in mind when I wrote "someone who can interpret."
Yes, Chiba-san speaks English, but she is not there all of the time. That is why I suggested that the questioner confirm beforehand. If she is not there, then communication in English will be difficult.

Another reason to call ahead is because Takano-sensei and Chiba-san both are sometimes away on trunk shows or purchasing material. This is not always reflected on the English or Japanese "news" section of their webpage.

Download the Google Translate App...no longer need any intermediaries to help out, especially in hobby and fashion world.

Thanks for all the advice looks like I’ll check out clematis. Their Instagram feed looks good, but the website pics make the shoes look really strange lol
