Returned to Japan from a long hiatus,
and a pleasant surprise waiting at home....

My second pair of trial shoes from Murata-san, aka Main d`or

Well made and polished (dark brown). Final shoes to be made with brown baby calf

    Pleasantly shaped round toes

    Foot issues well addressed

Yes my feet are really skinny. The baguette shape reminds me of those old English bespoke samples made really thin. I kinda like it.

The final pair will have an all black sole with a slightly more pronounced bevelled waist.

I will wear this pair for a month or so before I return to see Murata-san!

Nutcracker, wow that's pretty awesome (the shoes and the briefcase).

Are Murata-san's trial shoes cemented? I ask because that's what I've seen most makers do and the welt edge ends so close to the uppers. Either way, very cool.

Lovely bag. I remember looking through the window when the shop was near Daikanyama. Any hint what that cost? I`d guess two pairs of Fukuda`s made to orders?

    Thanks folks!! :fonz:

Yeah, his old atelier was definitely more accessible (but the new one is larger). The bag cost about one pair of Fukuda bespoke.
