Hmm. They are not exactly right next to the ramp to freeway... It's located about 10-15 minutes off freeway on a major road. Their parent co does OEM for shoe brands.

You're probably right. I saw it when the car was rounding a corner heading into a major road, probably mistook it for the ramp into the freeway. I wasn't driving and dozed off pretty soon thereafter.

Food wise, yeah. Sightseeing, not so much. There will be a sea of people during that weekend at all the sights. wrt to St C, that makes more sense although the rest of the pricing seems correct.

Thanks, NC! Very helpful as always. I'll try to check these other brands as well.

The LAST magazine mentioned above is always a good source to look (f you don`t already). Its pretty much a big catalog book (for better or for worse)

Shoeshiner extraordinaire Yuya Hasegawa from BRIFT H was recently profiled on a Japanese TV Show 'Mirai Theater' (11/08/2013 episode).

You can view it via the link below on Youku.com. (you have to unblock youkou in order to view the video outside China)

Hasegawa san's section starts from the 11:40 mark. Enjoy!

This thread is amazing. Thank you so much. I've been to Japan over twenty times and I didn't know the shoe culture was so amazing. Thanks!

    :fonz:

The history of the shoe culture may not be as long (a mere 140 years), but today there are probably more bespoke shoe businesses operating in Japan than anywhere else in the world. The depth of talent is quite extraordinary (don't need to understand the language to see that)!, and they"re finally getting some well deserved recognition from the outside world (GQ, Robb Report etc... to our favorite fashion portal KEIKARI)
    :)

Great photos of some lovely shoes! :fonz: I also noticed that Qnai-san upgraded his complementary shoe trees to classy beechwood ones (with curved wood handles). He also engraves the owner's name on each shoe tree.

While usually not a fan of exotic skins, that first example from Shirahama Bottier might be enough to swing from a baller outfit to a baller pimp outfit. Very nice.

BespokeMakers: Pricing of Quadrifoglio? While I got my United Nations bit on(Japanese, English and Italiano on the site) I did not see any numbers which I expected though missing them
    is entirely possible.
I think I like the styling, overall, as a collection for myself more than some of the other makers in this thread.
Many of the others I find lovely as pseudo art pieces or maybe just one or two would be good for actual wear in my case.

Thank you, gents, as usual. Again, a fab thread.
