Today on NHK I saw an interview with Mr. Hiroshi Watatani. He was described as an illustrator interested in fashion. He seems to produce work that depicts his idea of a slice of Americana. He also seems to have taken a page out of the Apparel Arts books. I had hoped to find more examples of his work, but here are a few:

ahh yes, the glory days of Americana. Those days are gone and dead. So illustrating how pre-1960's man lived is interesting for historical purposes.
