You have some nice shots. What camera are you using?
It certainly is hard not to like Japan.

Thanks! Just using my iPhone. I brought my other camera but never bothered to take it out of my bag.

Oedo onsen in Odaiba. I saw more pensises in one day here than I had hitherto in my entire life...overall a highly enjoyable, relaxing, and I might add, oddly liberating experience.

Just back from my first visit and it was awesome. Had a great sushi breakfast at Sushitomo at Tsujiki based on Styleforum’s recommendation.

Wow, looks like Stylforum should host a Japan themed members only party, then we can all see each other’s pensises!

The joke I realize is probably in poor taste, but it felt reasonable to make it.

Any of y’all been in Japan during the Autumn? I’m planning a return- any particular spots noteworthy for foliage spectating?

Kyoto apparently booms for it, so book early. I think November, late October is roughly when their season is. When I went to Kyoto, it was earlier in October, attached to a business trip.

Thanks. That’s around the time I was planning. I was told by someone I met there that Hakuba is also good for leaves. Excited to go back..Japanese culture truly fascinates me.

I’ll only get back there early next year.
This might earn some interest from some.
Three course fugu dinner.

Still very much alive, slightly tingly lips afterward. The fish itself is unremarkable and very bony, the novelty is why they do it I guess. I’m not interested in an encore.

But it was an honor to be hosted there, the people in Kyushu really are a joy to meet

I ate fugu. Didn’t really taste like anything. Whale, on the other hand, tasted like oceanic history.

Depends on where you plan to be in Japan and when. You can see a foliage forecast if you look through this page

Some of the parks in popular cities have "night viewing" where the foliage is lit up in the evening providing a very interesting perspective on the colors and surroundings. For example, Kenroku-en in Kanazawa is quite spectacular.
