Jantzen shirt updates - post your update here

I thought it would be a good idea to start an "update" thread for those of us who have ordered from Jantzen. I noticed a few days ago that a bunch of people ordered on Mar 19th and received their shirts last week. I ordered on the 20th and haven't received mine yet so thought I would call Ricky.

If you call Jantzen and get an update, post it here. That way we won't all have to bombard Ricky with phone calls.. it will be really easy to check here first and then call him only if there is no update in this message.

Ordered on: Mar 20th/08
Called Ricky on: Apr 9th/08
Response: Ricky said "We have been really busy.. haven't made your shirt yet. We will make it for you and send it out this weekend.. sorry!"

So for those of you who ordered on the 20th or later, it seems Ricky hasn't started on your order yet and it will likely be this weekend or later before it gets shipped.

Please update this thread if you get an update from Ricky so we can all watch anxiously

one reason to keep the "reliable at last thread" going: if it is active, first-time users are more likely to find and read it. and it has a lot of answers to frequently asked questions in it. start a new thread, and we will probably see more of the same questions all over again. that's not so efficient.

im in toronto, i ordered a shirt on the 27th, and ricky told me about a week ago that it was already made and on its way

I ordered on March 20th, confirmed 21st. I called last Friday 4/4/08 and he said it was mailed out on 3/31/08.

Ordered 3/20
Confirmed 3/21
Shipped 3/31
Charged 4/7

So I am waiting, what fabric did the original poster order???

i'm a big fan of jantzen (3 orders so far, a 4th on the way) but coho's right, there have been a lot of these threads.

Maybe this one can be more limited then -- just the facts. Not whether it's reliable or whether the soft collar is better than the medium. Given the volume of order from SFers, it can be like a Jantzen Barometer.

Confirmed April 1.

Am curious to know what you guys think of the quality (hand/opacity) of the fabrics they have? I don't like blindly ordering the stuff without seeing it in person, but I guess it's inexpensive.

Jantzen cloths are a crapshoot. Some are nicer than others. In general, the premium cloths seem to be worth the extra cost.

I placed an order last night and e-mailed Ricky requesting confirmation. When I woke up this morning, there was a reply waiting. Hope this order proves more successful than the last two, which vanished into the ether.

Which ones are the "premium" cloths? I didn't see any prices listed for any of the fabrics.

Some of the cloths say "HKD$310" under the name. Those are the ones with an upcharge.

I don't think they offer those "premium clothes" any more. They used to be called "jkt" but are not present since they changed the clothes number.

Keep in mind that you are supposed to use only "latest fabrics" #3 and above if you want to get a shirt in a reasonable time (it is stated on the home page).
