They had this on one of the TVs when I was at the gym a few nights ago. It made me hungry for foods I haven't had in a while, like sloppy joe's. [IMG]

That's what I was getting at. How is making healthy alternatives to foods kids like not the point of the show? He could make pizza with tortillas, no greasy meats, and be light on the sauce.
Kids just won't eat that salad he made either, but I don't know what can be done to make children eat vegetables in a school environment where they have the option of trashing it.

I suggest that we treat the kids like kittens when you have to change food on 'em. Of course they aren't going to eat the new stuff at first, but eventually they're going to be hungry and learn they have no other option and learn to like it. The worst thing that could happen is these kids will go a week or two with a few less calories before they wisen up to the fact that the pizza man isn't making deliveries to the school anymore.

I love this show and signed the petition to get better food in the schools. Time for the US to put it's money where it's mouth is with respect to preventative health care. . We focus so much on homicide, gun laws, and walk all over God's creation for breast cancer, but none of that is killing people at the rate of diet related heart problems. And the cost of Type II Diabetes... sheesh. There's your healthcare reform.

YES YES YES. The shit people eat these days amazes me. It pisses me off even more when people accept the rubbish they feed their kids and then even go so far to defend it. Jamie Oliver maybe driven by ego but so what.... it's for a good cause. Personally, I really think he cares about this passionately. All the success to him!

I give Jaimie credit for where he has decided to focus his time. More power to him.

He's mildly entertaining - and chucks together some good stuff....BUT.....

he's wasting his time with fat americans....

fuck em i say -- they can all get fatter and die for all i care.....

if you don't have any respect for yourself or your body - then to bad - see ya!

oh and P.s. my 7 year old knows what's good and what's not as far as eating goes.......

I don't think there is such a thing as healthy pizza. It is still a bunch of processed carbs in the crust, and loading on a bunch of veggies isn't going to change that fundamentally.

Yeah, but they could use tortillas for a crust...

Or just order a nice pizza and eat a slice... not the whole damned pizza.

I just don't really understand how a 12, 13 year old can weigh more than me.
