Hey everyone, obviously this is my first post.

I couldn't find any information else where so I thought to ask here. I recently bought a James Perse Polo online (size 2) and it is rather large on me. The fabric is 100% cotton and actually made in the US. I was wondering if I should return it or maybe someone can offer me insight into how much it would shrink if I washed and dried it.

I only speculate because recently one of my roommates accidently threw my 100% Lambs Wool LL Bean sweatshirt into the dryer. It shrank a good 3" in the sleeves and the torso is another story. Do you suppose the same would happen if I dried the James Perse Polo? The material is rather thin. Otherwise I'll just ship it back.

I'm generally a slim fitting guy btw.

from my experience, they are hard to shrink, but they are not slim fitting. I find them rather boxy to begin with.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
