Getting excited about the new Bond movie and it has me thinking, who would win in a fight between Bond and Batman?

To me they are very similar, both playboys who are equally at ease in tuxedos or in hand-to-hand combat, yet dedicated to fighting the bad guys with the help of lots of gadgets.

Cast your vote and lets see what everyone else thinks!

The fight, as I see it: Batman: Billionare, secret identity, world class athlete, has the equivalent of MI6 special weapons division and Q designing weaponry and vehicles for him, has been known to go completely insane, his greatest asset is fear. Has killed a few people. Does his killing before breakfast. Bond: Moderately wealthy, everyone knows its him (even when he's pretending to be someone else), smokes heavily/drinks heavily, has MI6 special weapons division and Q designing weaponry and vehicles for him, generally keeps a cool head, his greatest asset is his libido, kills frequently. Does his killing after breakfast. So... basically, at night, Batman has the edge. During the day, I'd be more inclined to give Bond a nod, but only if he tries seducing Bruce Wayne's woman. I think that in gadgetry and weapons, they are equal, physical conditioning would have to go to Batman, experience goes to Bond, Its pretty even. The real difference is that Batman does it because he loves it and believes in what he's doing. Bond is just paid to kill, so it means less to him. I think that psychological edge gives Batman the victory.

I voted Batman. But then I started thinking... should a superhero really have a name like Bruce? Sort of ruins it for me. Kinda like seducing a gorgeous woman named Twyla. (Although I really ain't that picky right now. C'mon Twyla, and bring your sister Bertha with you!)

Good points, Slim. Batman does not seem to know how to party, not like Bond.

Obviously, Robin would be so overwhlemed by Bond's incomprable charm and exuded sexual power that, just before Batman was about to deliver the fatal blow, he would dive before Bond, saving him and betraying his ersthwile master.

I think we have to consider this in some detail:

Fleming's Bond versus Bob Kane's original, pistol-toting Batman: Bond, most likely, but somebody's going to end up dead in gruesome fashion. (I almost gave it to Batman because he flew around in an autogyro, but Bond has the advantage of being jacked up on benzedrine.)

Connery Bond versus Denny O'Neil '70s comic-book Batman: Tossup, though some lucky lady is going to end up very happy. Much chest hair will be displayed.

Roger Moore Bond versus Adam West TV Batman: In some battles, there can be no winner. But TV Batman, I suppose. At least the show got cancelled before the star was 92 years old.

Daniel Craig Bond versus Christian Bale Batman: Craig, I hope, though the bar is pretty high.

Based on the last movie from each: I'd give the nod to Batman.

Unless it's some kind of CGI-tidal-wave rocket-car para-surfing competition.

Batman would probably still win that, though.

(Another matchup that I've had long, pointless discussions about: James Bond vs. Indiana Jones.)

Indy plays ball in a whole other league from Bond. I mean, Bond's a badass, but he never went toe to toe with the Nazis.

Nah, the Indy Nazis had their sights set a lot higher than the Russkies and SPECTRE. I mean, SPECTRE wasn't even trying to control the world, really, and the Soviets weren't trying to capture the power of God.

and I just watched that movie again just last month. I'm a Bond man and sticking to it, but I'm mildly afraid Batman would put up a hell of a fight.
