Fascinating and fun. Thanks, Marc. I think especially to men of my generation (I believe Dr. No came out just as I was turning 21) Bond has been pretty much the ultimate symbol of masculine elegance and style.

There are egregious moments in the sartorial history of Bond-- the baby blue terrycloth apres-swim romper in Thunderball, the safari suit in The Spy Who Loved Me, and the cheesily incongruous turtleneck/tweed used-car salesman outfit in Diamonds are Forever. But for every clinker there are a hundred iconic moments.

Still, I must admit to precisely the same viewpoint. Around my household and office, it's called "Rule 007", which reads "if you can't imagine JB wearing it, then don't wear it either."

How did Covid-19 impact your personal style?

  • My style hasn't changed at all.

  • My wardrobe hasn't changed but I am wearing casual clothes more often.

  • I invested in new good quality leisure and casual clothes.

  • I invested in new sartorial clothes taking advantage of the sales.

  • I purged my closet during quarantine and I have nothing left to wear.
