+1 BIG STINKING POS. Unless you really really like Olga Kurylenko; but, for that, Hitman is better.

Didn't seem like much of a Bond movie, but as an action picture it worked pretty well. That French dude was the least menacing Bond villain ever.

Wait... even less menacing than [IMG] Don't get me wrong, I love me some Jonathan Pryce - But as a menacing bond villain he set the bar pretty low. They might as well have cast Steve Jobs.

Shit, I hate writing this because I've been looking forward to it since the credits rolled on Casino Royale. But I can't help but feel there are going to be a lot of pissed off people when this thing is finally released in the states. These guys were right on, it's a big steaming POS. It's nothing more than a string of action sequences held together by a thin silvery thread someone called a plot. There's absolutely zero development of ANYTHING. I don't think the script could've been more than 5 or six pages long. There's not a whole lot of dialog, and some of the action looked like it was ripped out of The Transporter 2 and Point Break. Uhhhh, thanks Forster but I'll go to blockbuster when I want to re-watch something I've already seen. And if you hated the editing in the Bourne movies... stay far, far, away from this movie. Not only do we get the same shaky cam, but now this douche has decided to include jump cuts every 3 tenths of a second through the ENTIRE action sequence. Do yourselves a favor and go see something else and wait for this to hit blu-ray or DVD.

Okay, maybe not worse than Jonathan Pryce. If they could have just gotten Rupert Murdoch to play himself in that one, then that would have been some menacing shit.

Well whatever. I need to find the Airmans though, because I'm not paying for Tom Ford's $600 versions.
I actually have the Airman's in amber/gold and black/black. PM me if you are interested.

Dissapointing reviews so far, but I'll see it for myself to judge

Seen it twice now, last time was better. (Not that the first was esp bad.)
It does help to just watch the movie without thinking too much "Bond" all the time.
There are some really strange scenes in it, like when he drives his Aston through the tunnel in Sienna and passing under the lights, or when he`s driving the boat away and Camille's unconscious; esp the music makes it strange. Still haven't figured out what these mean.

My favorite silly scene was when Bond accidently uses Mathis as a human sheild. After a moment of asking myself what I'd just seen, I burst out laughing. I kept thinking Moe was going to enter stage right and boink him on head. Forster also inexplicably pulls a Terence Malic and infuses the movie with far too many shots of locals roaming the streets and random architecture. This is such a hodgepodge of uneeded styles and methods it never melds into anything worth watching. Especially when you add the lack of a good script. It was more Crank 2 than 007.

Oh, James Bond: Quantum of Solace is 2 weeks showing here in our place. I heard it's a good movie. I'll be watching this one at weekend. [IMG]

I am not a James Bond fan - maybe that's one of the reasons why I like "Casino Royal". I was a bit disappointed with "Quantum of Solace". The shaky cam just ruins a lot of the action sequences for me and I made the mistake of focusing too much on the holes in the storyline. I will watch it again when the DVD hits the video rental shops.

Yeah, CR actually had a better plot and wasn't just another action movie. QoS seemed to have 15 minutes worth of plot and 80 minutes of shaky camera chase scenes -- car, rooftop, boat, and plane.

I enjoyed Casino Royale better, but enjoyed it.

I didn't like it. After Casino Royale, this is way downhill.

It was OK, nothing special. The lack of a real bad guy is a let down.

I'm not sure I like the "emotional" Bond. Other characters it might seem good, but I think part of the Bond charm is that he is so unattached.

I thought it was really good. Not as good as CR, but really good nonetheless.

Was a tad disappointed, but at least the movie as a whole wasn't a complete waste of my time. Some great action scenes. Ending could have been better.

Anyone know what tie knot Craig used in Quantum of Solace?

Does Daniel Craig make the obligatory smart arse remarks when he kills the villains?
