Thanks both! I did try warming the acetate a bit with a blowdryer, but no luck. I think you're right that the thickness of the acetate has increased resistance to the extent that I should leave the work to a professional. I'll split the difference between sunglasses and opticals, send the frames into Zoomer for transitions, and leave the hard work to them.

Also, has anyone heard of the Wagram frame? Similar shape to the Insley and a couple other recent frames, but I hadn't seen these before. I also can't see a single post about them on this forum, which is a first. Anyone seen these in person and/or tried these on?

Getting them out – whilst not easy – is certainly less frustrating than putting them back in. If you don't get the lenses seated in correctly they will creak and this annoys me to no end haha! I've often put them in warm water for half a minute beforehand. If you're not confident it's often best to take them to your local guy.

Hi friends. I have two pairs of JMM sunglasses – both Kaine in Agar and Platinum (Agar pictured below). I recently ordered the Plaza eyeglasses for everyday use. I liked them when I tried them, but now I'm kinda curious about the Devaux for a rounder everyday look. What do folks think? My local shop doesn't have Devaux in stock to try, but maybe I can order them if I need/want to.

I think the Plaza is a great choice for you for opticals. Honestly, I think it will be hard to do better.

I have tried the Devaux (fka Loewy) a couple of times. Personally, I think they make up better as sunglasses than opticals. In each case, I ended up choosing something else.

Here's the current state of the collection, missing my Argyle Jeff which is currently at JMM having temples repaired. Also featuring my hand-me-down Prada mowing glasses in the corner of the frame 🤣 View attachment 1795654
Are 3 of your JMM's opticals as there seems to be far too light of tints with them to be functional sunglasses?

Fellini, Enzo, and Ichikawa are opticals, though the Ichikawa will become a sunglass when I decide how to have them tinted. My Jeff is also an optical. Dealan, Yves, and Taos are sun. I stayed away from JMMs as sunglasses for a long time, since I tend to be hard on sunglasses and mostly just wear them in the car anyway, but I've obviously ended up with a few.

Has anybody got one of the “chocolate” or “London” colourway or something similar? I wish camel was made in more styles. How do you like it?
I’ve been looking at some of the pairs with very light tints and am just curious how people enjoy them. Obviously wouldn’t be expecting amazing sun protection but I’m more interested in the vibe/styling

I'm sure lsterling has Yves in London so maybe he can provide some good photos. I tried on Yves London in Melbourne last week and I quite liked it although if I had the choice I'd probably choose Tempest (same orange lens) over that as the wirecore which I like, is more visible.
