I went this process a couple months back with NextLevel and those Fellini. Paid the money and after 4 days of nothing I sent them a facebook message to which they replied, sorry this has been out of stock for months lol

Great... you think they would have updated their website between then. Oh well. Argyles aren’t a bad consolation prize.

Edit - gave them a call on the way out of the office. They definitely do not have them in stock. Guy was nice though. Took my number down and said he has a connection who can sometimes track down old stock. I doubt that will happen but appreciate the effort.

On the subject of eight legged villainous creatures (and I am absolutely NOT a fan of live action comic book films, the Marvel universe etc) ...
There’s a good documentary named Superman Lives about attempts to reboot the Superman franchise. It shows Nicholas Cage trying on outfits with long hair etc. Kevin Smith talks about meeting producer Jon Peters (who somehow parlayed being Barbara Streisand’s hairdresser then boyfriend into becoming a film producer and briefly married to Pamela Anderson!) Peters demands that Smith include a spider / human hybrid villain in the script. That never got made of course but Peters later produced ‘Wild Wild West’ in which of course there was a spider / human hybrid villain. Well worth a watch to see the craziness of trying and failing to get a big budget film made.

So anyway - sunglasses eh?

Have we already talked about color? I can't remember.

What are people's favorite "non-traditional" colors? Meaning not black or Havana. Ideally, something you own and wear, but happy to discuss stuff you're looking at.

I have a pair of frames in "taupe," which is this brownish gray colorway below. I find it pairs easily with the blue, black, and brown that make up a lot of my wardrobe. Pretty neutral color, but also not "standard." Goes pretty easily with workwear.

I've been eyeing Rover and Surplus, but a little careful of getting frames that end up looking like guys who wear things for a "pop of color." But maybe "pop of color" works for eyewear? Are there wardrobe considerations for this? Skin color? Wardrobe style? Thoughts?

I’m always advising caution in converting sunnies to opticals as success is limited IMO but this one works. Maybe cos Fitz is a little more ‘tame’ than many of the JMM frames, and the Havana takes the edge off them looking too severe as perhaps they would in Noir.

No way I would have done it on a Noir for sure, and that's sort of why I didn't do it on Torinos for fear they would be too oversized. Dealans was the other option, as I had the Roy Orbison-inspired Oliver Peoples for Nom de Guerre about fifteen years ago (can't remember the name of the model), but I wanted something a little more neutral.
