Actually I like the combination with the Grove lenses, but perhaps the combination with brown ones, like in the Sterett, is even better.

I was hoping it was just the illusion from the lens color, but I think the fade from the Quentin is quite a bit different. The Sterett goes from brown to clear quickly, but the Quentin seems to fade out everything but the yellow undertones. I suppose that’s nice with some people but I think for most it has a look that’s far less clean

It could be just the pictures, but it actually looks like that the colourway is different on the two frames. Personally I like both.

Quentin look great as opticals. I've got a pair of 1980's en route so I'll decide what to do but I feel that I'll be changing the Quentin to optical in the future. I found them not too bad (weight wise) after having them on for most of the day. I guess unless you go with one of the thinner profile JMM for opticals they'll always be on the heavier side.

Jax Shironeri -- may turn into opticals with green transitions.

Agree with this, I am using them as optical as too and think they look better than as sun. Noticing they feel a bit heavy at the end of the day compared to my Molino 51s but I’m sure it’s just a matter of getting used to them.

80's ordered on Monday eve and arrived today lunchtime :). Got 20% off as well. They are massive but I'm really loving these and the fade is pretty awesome. Will pop the lenses out with my new JMM screwdriver tool but think these will stay as sunnies rather than opticals.

Anyone familiar with the upcoming Alanui campaign and products? Not a fan of the styling on the JMM website for this release. Don’t need to see this skinny dude with his shirt off. Could focus better on the frames.

After raising prices as a barrier of entry for exclusivity, JMM is also stipulating you have to be a skinny dude that looks good with your shirt off before you can buy a pair.

Appreciate all the Quentin Hickory fade lens talk. Have worn mine as sunnies for a month and am ready for custom lenses. Virtually no one talks about gradients with these frames. The most attractive photos that I’ve seen are orange or brown to complement the frames, not overpower them. Probably why gradients aren’t a popular choice.

I've have 0-75% grey gradients in my Yves black fades and they look great, so I don't see why a brown gradient won't complement the hickory. I say go for it.

Funny, I’m putting contrasting medium blue gradients in my black fade Rawlins. Haven’t decided on the Hickory fades. Thanks for your comment.
