Those are really nice, no Really nice, and the they look good in that picture. But you have arrived at a place that I reside at……. most JMM are just a bit too wide across the total width of the frame, (wish they’d publish this crucial dimension)such that they look a bit clunky face on.for me 140mm is usually the max I can get away with, sometimes 145 Depending on lens shape.
i took a punt on the Julien using an educated guess, Big Reds pix(thx again) and swayed by the JMM marketing speak saying that they would work with a smaller face and yeah turned out they’re just right. ….
my point is to keep going, maybe the LF Rawlins ?…oh they’re RX only ? …..totally agree that if they don’t blow up yer skirt, return them…..don’t let it get you down.
Haha very true!
I tried some Rawlins when I was in Boca Raton I think. At that point I didn’t want black (which was all they had) as I don’t wear much black these days but it’s a versatile frame colour and as much as I like the ‘depth’ of Havana variations I counted I already have six pairs of shades with some variation of brown variegated frames. Maybe I also balked at the extra fee needed to get tinted lenses (although with clear optics I might be able to apply my pittance of VSP allowance!!)
I’ll take another look but unlikely to be in Boca for a few weeks by which time they’re probably gone. Was really hoping this recent LF release would hit the spot for me.

I do have a pair of Leisure Society incoming so we’ll see how they work out. If not … I was surprised how well the Sebergs suited me and I love those bottle green lenses.

It’s a disease!

I recently sprang for a pair of LF direct from JMM as the likelihood of me finding a pair to try on in person in a shop is slim to none.
Construction and finishing are absolutely top drawer as you’d expect but my line of thinking was “at this price if they don’t give me an instant boner when I try them on, they’re going back!”
Being as I tend to lean towards the more conservative in terms of style and ‘weight’ on the JMM spectrum these are just too big and heavy for my tastes so they’re going back. I liked the silver background of the thunderbirds on this version rather than the ‘stuck on’ version of the rovers, but I just don’t see myself wearing these and certainly not at $1.8k so don’t try to convince me otherwise! I’ll continue my journey in search of the perfect pair but thought some viewers might be interested in how they look … View attachment 1718345 View attachment 1718346
Additional shot comparing the frame width with my Dealans.

Any chance we could get a straight on pic? Had a good quarter at work and am heavily considering this pair :p

Got a pair from Modes.com- just came in today and they sent Molinos instead of the Fellinis I ordered…
Pretty frustrating considering they shipped internationally and took over a week to get here. :(

Anyone have a side by side shot of Hickory/Argyle and Agar frames in real life? I have seen both Hickory and Argyle frames. They’re nice, but I would like to check out the Agar color before I pull the trigger. Thanks.

I believe agar is the darker of the 3, and tends to also have the gold detail on the outside of the arms? Argyle I believe only has the gold on the inside of the arms. This is likely Enzo specific however as that’s where my focus has been.

Does anyone know of a place in the US that might have the Last Frontier Rawlins RX, in Surplus?

Thanks. I was looking for something a little less produced than the JMM site. I might purchase and give it a try.

So how much does not having the box or card affect the value of an otherwise clean pair of JMMs? If it just comes with case and cloth for example? Half of retail? Less? I was looking at a pair and trying to figure what to offer. Don’t care that much about the original packaging although I always keep mine perfect and unused when I buy them new just in case of resale. I mainly want the glasses and if it saves me a bunch of money in this case I might go for it.

I’d say since there is a collector kind of component, it would be fair to offer less for the sunglasses if it didn’t come with all of its packaging. If you looked to sell it in the future, I’m sure you’d have a hard time getting top dollar for otherwise great condition sunglasses. If I were to just take a rough shot, maybe knock $100 from the price?
