Army Taos
Loving my Zephirins, but still looking for a frame for my second (reading) prescription. I'm considering the Arshile, which I tried on earlier in the black fade, but would get it in a slightly discounted havana instead. My one reluctance is the bridge, which is more narrow (20) than the Zephirin I have, or the Prudhon that is the other frame I'm considering, which are both 22. I'm reposting my Arshile fit below: does the bridge here look too narrow to you, or is this how it should look? I don't have a particularly wide nose, so perhaps this is just how it's supposed to sit.

Thanks for this - I like the shape of the lens better on the Arshile, but prefer the shape of the bridge on the Prudhon. I appreciate your feedback on the bridge there, which helps push me further towards the Arshile that I had been leaning towards already. From this photo, to me the Arshile's bridge does not appear too small on your face (and you are giving a bit of a smile). But if you're "feeling" the Prudhon more, then there's your answer on what to purchase next.
By the way, thanks for returning that size 50 DBF brown check cardigan jacket a few weeks ago
Yeah, I definitely agree that it’s not the most exciting JMM frame, and I would just go with another brand rather than purchasing the Arshile at the $730 retail. But purchased as new for just under $500, they’d only be $100 or so more expensive than a comparable frame from a brand like Garrett Leight. And I know these are particularly light, comfy, and without the rigidity of the more interesting JMM frames, like the Pelagius you recommend, which is a factor I privilege when looking for something that I mostly just want to forget I’m wearing while working, reading, etc. Despite this, they still feel better and more substantial (more JMM) in the hand than your comparable Leight or Oliver Peoples frame, which might make the added expense worth it for me.I think the bridge is fine - perhaps a slight bit pinched, but that does not bother me.
I think the frame is also fine, but maybe a little blah. The frame could be from another brand; ie, it does not necessarily read like a JMM frame. That may or may not matter.
I think you should revisit the Pelagius, this time in dark Havana.
